Universal Studios - Jimmy Fallon Ride

Overview

Back in 2015, Universal Studios began talking about a new attraction at their theme park. The attraction would be called “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The attraction would take the place of longtime attraction “Twister: Ride It Out” and would also include new construction as well as a remodel. The new building’s façade is based on 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, the building that houses Studio 6B where the Tonight Show was broadcast.

Universal Studios assigned General Contractor Wharton-Smith to complete this project. In turn, they contracted with KENPAT to provide the interior and external metal framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, acoustical wood wall panels, internal and external FRC panels and themed stucco. This included the installation of:
• Complete GFRC, Fiberglass panels, stucco, drywall & acoustical
• Acoustical Wood Panels 6,000 SF
• Acoustical Fabric Panels 1,400 sf
• Acoustical Ceilings 7,000 sf
• Metal Framing 278,000 LF
• Drywall 316,000 SF
• GFRC/GFRP 5,000 sf
• Themed stucco 5,500 sf

KENPAT self-performed 100% of this scope.
