Kenpat has been awarded Project of the Year by the Central Florida Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors for their work at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Steinmetz Hall!
Phase Two of the Steinmetz Hall project included construction of an eight-story Theatre, back-of-house and an elegant lobby. Kenpat was contracted to provide and install the acoustical and specialty ceilings as well as ACM Cladding of the HVAC duct risers in the front-of-house. The unique and difficult scope required a specially designed, one-of-a-kind metal ceiling that does not exist in the commodity ceiling marketplace. The ceiling boasts the most elite acoustic rating possible, NC1.
This project gave Kenpat the opportunity to demonstrate their engineering prowess by 3D modeling the elaborate structure to mitigate a host of challenges, which were to be expected when working with such a grand design. The modeling process was critical in assuring material could be released to fabrication without field-measuring. Despite additional challenges such as access, escalation, inflation, supply issues and Covid-19, Kenpat delivered their one-of-a-kind acoustical ceiling on time and within budget.
